My name is Cath and I have been working as a therapist and counsellor in various roles for the last 15 years. I have a Masters in Counselling from the University of Nottingham and am BACP Accredited. I previously worked in Corporate roles for both The Boots Company and Rolls-Royce. I specialised in Communications and was the Head of Internal Communications for Rolls-Royce before deciding to retrain as a counsellor.
My current role is Head of Counselling at Trent College, a private school in Long Eaton in Nottingham, working with secondary school children from age 11 to 18 years.
My family are proud to support the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline charity. We have the BRC 1 gene fault running in our family. With having four daughters, three so far have been tested and all have the gene fault. One of our daughters has already had an elective mastectomy and another is on the waiting list for surgery.
I personally have been through treatment for bowel cancer, so I feel passionate about providing the right support and advice to people who are faced with a decision to have preventative surgery.
